About Breuckelen Athletic
Breuckelen Athletic is a strength and conditioning gym founded by head coach Luis Torres. In 2024 it signed a lease for about 9,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space at 300 Huntington Street in Gowanus, with plans for recovery and therapy rooms and a sauna (Commercial Observer).
Why a line of credit
A line of credit let the founders draw funds as each cost came due, instead of taking one lump sum up front.
The great thing about the line of credit is that we got to use it at the pace that we needed to as well.
They used it for payroll, building expenses, materials and equipment for the new gym, so they could finish the space the way they wanted without feeling limited.
Choosing SBG Funding
Before deciding, the founders read SBG Funding’s Better Business Bureau reviews and talked with the team. They describe the people they worked with as responsive and attentive, checking in along the way.
It just felt like people that we could trust.
They say that more personal approach, compared with a traditional lender, was part of why they chose SBG, and they would recommend it to other business owners and friends.

The financing
An SBG Funding business line of credit runs from $5,000 to $500,000. You draw what you need, repay it and draw again; each draw carries a fee of up to 2%, with no maintenance, annual or inactivity fees.
