DugOut BX has sat at 880 River Avenue in the Bronx, right across the street from Yankee Stadium, for 20 years. Sheila Smith used to bartend there. When the chance came to take it over, she became the owner.

About DugOut BX
Sheila started at the bar as a part-time bartender. When the business ran into trouble, she worked out a deal with the previous owner and the landlord to buy it (Bronx Times).
What she needed
Sheila needed funding to get the bar over a hump and finish the job. She tried several banks first, but a seasonal business doesn’t always have cash sitting in the account, and that is what the banks wanted to see.
The banks want to see money available to get money.
Working with SBG Funding
Sheila came across SBG Funding while scrolling online and called the number. A representative answered on a Sunday and called her right back, and she was funded that day. She says the team laid out every option so she could choose what fit her and the business.
What the funding did
DugOut BX renovated the entire front bar, with new flooring, raised ceilings, new lighting and new AC units.
I would say available, knowledgeable and successful.
Business near the stadium rises and falls with the Yankees schedule. During the 2024 World Series, Sheila told the Bronx Times, “Normally, this place is a ghost town.” Uneven cash flow like that is exactly what banks struggle with.
