About RJ Networks (formerly RJ Telecommunications)
The company, now called RJ Networks, has served Michigan businesses since 1995 from its office in Southfield. It started in low-voltage cabling and telecommunications and today installs business phone systems and networks and provides managed IT. Mark Friday is its president (RJ Networks). The video was filmed when it still went by RJ Telecommunications.
Choosing a lender
Mark filled out one online inquiry and heard from a long list of lenders. Some offered a slightly lower rate, but the representative was pushy, and for a company that sells customer service, that mattered more than the difference in cost.
The small percentage of money that we would’ve saved is not worth having someone that we’ve been dealing with who is nice and just pleasant to work with.
Working with SBG Funding
Mark had taken out bank financing before, and remembers a longer process that ran through a loan officer, an underwriter and a closer. With SBG Funding he dealt with one person throughout, who also brought him options he hadn’t considered.
With SBG, we only had to talk to one person. Communication was really easy and the level of customer service was just over the top.
What the funding did
RJ is using the funds to buy equipment up front for large projects, to invest in marketing, and possibly to hire a full-time sales director.
